What if I have an emergency after hours?
Emergency service after hours is provided by the Sarasota Veterinary Emergency Hospital, located at 7517 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231, (941) 923-7260. This facility is equipped to handle most emergencies, and no appointment is needed. Their hours are Monday through Thursday 5pm – 8am, Friday 5pm to Monday 8am. They are also open 24 hours weekends and holidays.

What if my pet needs to see a specialist?
We have a strong relationship with many specialists in the area. We can assist you in scheduling an appointment with these veterinarians, if necessary.

Why is laser surgery better?
Because the laser seals nerve endings and small blood vessels. As it “cuts,” it reduces the bleeding and pain your pet may endure during an operation. There is also less swelling because the laser does not tear or bruise the tissue. In addition, the laser sterilizes as it removes tissue, reducing the risk of infection. All of these benefits lead to faster healing for your pet.

This is a voluntary membership whose goal is to uphold a substantially higher standard of medical care and facility resources than most states minimally require. AAHA professionals regularly evaluate our hospital to ensure that we maintain the highest standards and provide the best veterinary care we can
